The "Product FAQs" column collects products related questions which MGI customers inquiries frequently. And we organizes FAQs which will be released in the future to help you understand and use MGI products better.

Q1:How many configurations do MGISP-100/960 have?

MGISP-100 have only 1 configuration.

MGISP-100 version A is a compact & low throughput automated library preparation system.

MGISP-960 have 11 configurations.

Config 1/2/5/7/8/10 are high throughput automated library preparation systems.

Config 3/4/6/9/11 are high throughput automated NA extraction & purification systems, and also can use for liquid transfer.

Q2:What are the usage scenarios of MGISP-100/960 different configurations?

MGISP-100 is a fixed configuration that can be used with various types of library preparation kits.

MGISP-960 currently has 11 configurations. Configuration 7 is the most widely used configuration, which is already adapted MGI WGS/RNA kits. The WES reagent kits are recommended to use configuration 2. Configuration 9 is for extraction, and most widely used globally.

Other configurations are set to meet personalized (non NGS) scenarios for different customers.

MGISP-100/960 can also be OEM/ODM based on customer requirements.

Q3:What applications has MGISP-100/960 been adapted?

MGISP-100/960 have been adapted to most MGI library preparation kits, including the WGS/WES/RNA/Single cell.

MGISP-100/960 has adapted most MGI extraction kit, including the extraction of blood/plasma/white blood cells/saliva samples etc.

MGISP can also be adapted to some widely used kits from third party brand, such as Agilent/NEB/Twist/IDT/Roche, etc.

The adapated kit list can be downloaded from KMS link.

Q4:What is the recommended throughput of MGISP-100/960?

The recommended throughput of MGISP-100 is 16 samples per run. In some specific situations, the throughout of MGISP-100 can be customized between 1-32 according to different requirements, which may sacrifice the degree of automation. You could contact the product manager for case-by-case discussion.

The recommended throughput of MGISP-960 is 96 samples per run.In some specific situations, the throughout of MGISP-960 can be 12*N(12/24/36/48/60/72/96).

The running time varies according to different workflows. For example,MGI WGS kit basically takes 4-6h from DNA to PCR libraries.

Q5:Does MGISP-100/960 have any anti- contamination solution?

MGISP-100/960 integrates HEPA and UV lamps, which can avoid contaminaton risk. And the tips of MGISP-100/960 are filter tips, which can effectively prevent cross contamination and cumulative contamination.

Q6:What is the pipetting accuracy of MGISP-100/960?

MGISP-100:

1 μL:CV<5%,accuracy <±15%

2 μL:CV<5%,accuracy <±10%

200 μL:CV<1%,accuracy <±1%

MGISP-960:

2 μL:CV<5%,accuracy <±10%

200 μL:CV<1%,accuracy <±1%

Q7:What function moudles do MGISP-100/960 have?

MGISP-100:

6 SBS positions,

PCR Module, Magnetic Frames Module, Temperature Control Modules, Trash, HEPA Module

MGISP-960:

24 SBS positions,

PCR Module, Shaker, Magnetic Frames Module, Temperature Control Modules, Trash, HEPA Module

Q8:Do MGISP-100/960 have user friendly software?

MGISP-100/960 have both adopted code free graphical workflow editing software and are compatible with Python scripts. You can use drag and drop commands to select steps and modify parameters to complete the workflow writing. At the same time, there are multiple tested modular workflows available for customers to choose from, and once selected, they can be fine tuned to complete the writing of experimental automation workflows.
