Q7:What consumables are available for MGISP-Smart 8?

There are 4 types of consumables available,  tips, tubes, microplates and reservoirs, as follows:

◾Tips: We recommend the use of MGI's T50, T200, T1000 conductive and non-conductive tips.

◾Tubes:0.5mL, 0.6mL, 1.5mL, 2mL, 5mL, 6mL, 10mL, 50mL centrifuge tubes or sample tubes.

◾Microplates: PCR Plates, Deepwell Plates and other 96-well SBS standard plates , as well as break-away PCR Plate, etc.

◾Reservoirs: 50mL/100mL Single Well Reservoir made in MGI

For more information about the consumables, please refer to the product brochures.

Q8:What applications has MGISP-Smart 8 been compatible with?

MGISP-Smart 8 provides various solutions to customers  it is able to accelerate workflows such as library preparation, nucleic acid extraction and reagents dispensing and preparation, cherry-picking , sample pooling and normalization. We are continuing to work with our partners to expand our solution list, such as cell biology and synthetic biology.

For library preparation, three applications including WGS, WES and RNA library preparation can be carried out on Smart 8, as an open platform it can be compatible with MGI's kits and kits from third-parties.

Q9:How does MGISP-Smart 8 reduce aerosol and cross-contamination?

The Smart 8 minimizes aerosol and cross-contamination by using the HEPA module and  filter tips.

1) The HEPA module continuously refreshes the air within the instrument, reducing aerosol contamination.

2) MGI's filter tips decrease the risk of aerosol contamination during the workflow.

Q10:What is the nucleic acid extraction throughput of MGISP-Smart 8? What is the difference between Smart 8 and MGISP-960?

It differs from MGISP-960 mainly in throughput and flexibility

(1)The Smart 8 supports nucleic acid extraction for any number of samples/run from 8-96 , and it is more flexible and automated, allowing direct pipetting from tubes without manual transformation from tubes to plates. However, the TAT is longer than MGISP-960.

(2)MGISP-960 supports  96 samples/run nucleic acid extraction with fixed throughput, however, its TAT is shorter than Smart 8.

Q11:Is MGISP-Smart 8 an open platform? Is it compatible with third-party kits?

The MGISP-Smart 8 is an open platform that enables users to customize hardware and scripts to meet their specific application needs. It supports third-party application kits,  if customer wants to develop their own application, please contact local FAS for help.

Q12:Which certificates  MGISP-Smart 8 has obtained at present?

So far, MGISP-Smart 8 has obtained many international certifications such as CE(RUO/IVD), CB, CMETus, EAC, UK, etc. It has access to many major markets such as EU, North America, UK and EAC, and the instrument quality is guaranteed.
